DESCRIPTION:The One Day National Seminar on Vrikshayurveda titled “Vrikshabodhini” was conducted on 2nd\nApril 2026\, as a part of auspicious occasion of VRIKSHAYURVEDA CERTIFICATE COURSE launch at\nAshtamgam Ayurveda Chikitsalayam Evum Vidyapeedam\, Vavanoor\, in association with Kerala Jaiva\nSamrakshana Samithi. The programme began with lighting of the lamp followed by the Welcome\nAddress by Sri. Unnikrishnan Mangat and Presidential Address by Ashtavaidyan Alathiyoor\nNarayanan Nambi. The seminar was inaugurated by Prof. Mala Kapadia\, Director\, Anaadi Centre for\nIndigenous Knowledge Systems\, Anaadi Foundation. The Course Launch was conducted by Dr.\nNagabhushanam G\, followed by felicitations from Sri. Rajeev Kangath from Kerala Jaiva Samrakshana\nSamithi and Dr. J. Thomas\, Director of Research (Rtd)\, Spices Board and Former Rubber Production\nCommissioner.\nScientific sessions were handled by eminent speakers including Prof. Mala Kapadia\, P. G.\nKrishnakumar\, Dr. C. K. Peethambaran\, Dr. Ajayan Sadanandan\, and Dr. Pavithra Kandavel\,\nhighlighting the importance of Vrikshayurveda in sustainable agriculture and global health. The\nprogramme concluded with the valedictory session\, certificate distribution\, and visit to the\ndemonstration plot where participants planted vegetable plantlets. The seminar was informative\nand successful\, promoting practical awareness of Vrikshayurveda principles.

DESCRIPTION:അഷ്ടാംഗം ആയുർവേദ മെഡിക്കൽ കോളേജ്. \nതൃത്താല മേഖലയിലെ ആയുർവേദ പാരമ്പര്യത്തിന്റെ പിന്തുടർച്ച നിലനിർത്താൻ ആയിട്ടാണ് അഷ്ടാംഗം ആയുർവേദ കോളേജ് എന്ന ഒരു സ്ഥാപനം ഉടലെടുത്തത്. പാരമ്പര്യ ആയുർവേദ വൈദ്യന്മാരുടെയും പുതിയ തലമുറയുടെയും കൂട്ടായ ഒരു ശ്രമഫലമാണ് ഈ സ്ഥാപനം. ആദ്യകാലം മുതൽ തന്നെ പരിസ്ഥിതി പുനഃസ്ഥാപന പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങളിൽ “അഷ്ടാംഗം “എന്നും മുൻപന്തിയിലാണ് ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കുന്നത്. \nപരിസരത്തെ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിലും പൊതുസ്ഥലങ്ങളിലും” നക്ഷത്രവനം ” സൗജന്യമായി വെച്ചുപിടിപ്പിച്ചു കൊടുക്കുക\, സ്കൂളുകൾക്ക് സൗജന്യമായി ” ഔഷധോധ്യാനം ” തയ്യാറാക്കി കൊടുക്കുക\, പരിസരത്തെ വീടുകളിൽ വംശനാശം ഭീഷണി നേരിടുന്ന അശോകം പോലെയുള്ള ഔഷധ വൃക്ഷങ്ങൾ നട്ടുപിടിപ്പിക്കാൻ സഹായിക്കുക\, പരിസരത്തെ തെരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ട ഏതാനും വീടുകളിൽ ഇന്ന് മറന്നു പോയിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന ഗൃഹ ഔഷധികളുടെ ഒരു സെറ്റ് വെച്ചുപിടിപ്പിക്കുക\, കർക്കിടക മാസത്തിൽ പരിസരത്തെ സ്കൂളുകളിൽ “ഇലപെരുമ്മ ” എന്ന പേരിൽ കർക്കിടകത്തിലെ ഭക്ഷണ പാരമ്പര്യത്തെ കുറിച്ച് പുതിയ തലമുറയ്ക്ക് മനസ്സിലാക്കാൻ വേണ്ടിയുള്ള പദ്ധതികൾ നടത്തുക\, ഇവയോടൊപ്പം തന്നെ എല്ലാ വർഷവും ജൂൺ 5ന് അവസാനിക്കുന്ന വിധത്തിൽ ഏഴു ദിവസത്തെ” പരിസ്ഥിതി സപ്താഹം”\, അഷ്ടാംഗം ആരംഭിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള ഒരു പുതിയ ആശയമാണ് പരിസ്ഥിതി സപ്താഹം എന്നത്. കേരളത്തിലെ തന്നെ പരിസ്ഥിതി രംഗത്ത് പ്രമുഖർ ആയിട്ടുള്ള ഒട്ടേറെ പ്രവർത്തകർ ഈ പരിപാടിയിൽ പങ്കെടുക്കാൻ ഇവിടെ വന്നിട്ട് നമ്മുടെ കുട്ടികളെ അഭിസംബോധന ചെയ്തു സംസാരിക്കുകയുണ്ടായിട്ടുണ്ട്. എസ് പി രവി\, രാജൻ ചുങ്കത്ത്\, രാജഗോപാൽ പള്ളിപ്പുറം\, ടോണി തോമസ് തുടങ്ങി ഒരുപാട് പേര് ഈ പരിപാടിയിൽ പലപ്പോഴായി പങ്കെടുത്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. \nഇന്ന് നമ്മൾ പച്ചക്കറി വാങ്ങിക്കുമ്പോൾ ഏറ്റവും വിഷലിപ്ത മായിട്ടുള്ളത് കറിവേപ്പിലയാണെന്ന് പറയുന്നു. ആ കറിവേപ്പിലയുടെ ഉപയോഗം കുറയ്ക്കാനായി നമ്മളായിട്ട് കറിവേപ്പില കൃഷി ചെയ്യാൻ ക്യാമ്പസിൽ ” ശതകാളശാഖം” എന്ന ഒരു പദ്ധതി നടപ്പാക്കിയിട്ട് 100 കറിവേപ്പ്‌ വെച്ചു പിടിപ്പിച്ചു. അതുപോലെ തന്നെ നടൻ പച്ചക്കറിയുടെ ലഭ്യത ഉറപ്പാക്കാൻ ആയിട്ട് ഒരു സ്റ്റാഫ് ഒരു പപ്പായ എന്ന ഒരു പദ്ധതി\, ക്യാമ്പസിൽ 100 പ്ലാവുകൾ വെച്ചുപിടിപ്പിക്കുക\, കഴിഞ്ഞ രണ്ടു മൂന്നു വർഷം കൊണ്ടാണ് ആ ലക്ഷ്യം നേടിയത്. ഇപ്പോൾ നമ്മുക്ക് ആവശ്യത്തിനുള്ള ചക്ക ഈ ക്യാമ്പസിൽ തന്നെ ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. അതിൽ തേൻവരിക്ക പോലെയുള്ള നാടൻ പ്ലാവുകളും ഒപ്പം തന്നെ വിയറ്റ്നാം സൂപ്പർ ഏർളി പോലെയുള്ള പുതിയ വെറൈറ്റികളും ഉണ്ട്. \nഓണക്കാലമായാൽ പൂവിടലിന് നാടൻ പൂക്കൾ മാറി ഇപ്പോൾ തമിഴ്നാടിലെ പൂക്കൾക്ക് വേണ്ടി കാത്തുനിൽക്കുന്ന ഒരു അവസ്ഥയാണ് ഉള്ളത്. ആ അവസ്ഥയ്ക്ക് ഒരു പരിഹാരമെന്ന നിലയ്ക്ക് ” സ്വന്തം ഓണപ്പൂന്തോപ്പ് ” എന്ന പദ്ധതിയിൽ നമ്മൾ എല്ലാ വർഷവും പൂക്കൾ ഇവിടെ ഉണ്ടാക്കാറുണ്ട്. \nഅതുമാതിരി വേനൽക്കാലത്ത് നമ്മൾ നടത്തുന്ന ഒരു ക്യാമ്പാണ് വേനൽതുമ്പികൾ. ഈ കുട്ടികൾ എല്ലാവർഷവും” തുമ്പിത്തോപ്പ് ” എന്നപേരിൽ ഏതാനും മരങ്ങൾ ഒരു പ്രത്യേക ഭാഗത്ത് വെച്ചു പിടിപ്പിക്കാറുണ്ട്. പിന്നെ അശോക മരങ്ങളുടെ ഒരു കൂട്ടം ” അശോക വനം” എന്ന പേരിലും നാട്ടു മാവുകളുടെ ഒരു കൂട്ടം ” നാട്ടുമാന്തോപ്പ്” എന്ന പേരിലും\, മറ്റു രാജ്യങ്ങളിൽ നിന്ന് ഇവിടെ വന്നിട്ടുള്ള എക്സ്ർട്ടിങ് ചെടികളായ അബിയു\, റമ്പൂട്ടാൻ മുതലായ ചെടികളുടെ Exorting Garden കാട്\, നാടൻ പഴങ്ങളുടെ Traditional Garden എന്നിവ ക്യാമ്പസിലെ മറ്റു പദ്ധതികളാണ്. \nഒപ്പം തന്നെ ഈ മാലിന്യ സംസ്കരണത്തിലും അഷ്ടാംഗം വഴികാട്ടിയായി മുൻപന്തിയിൽ നിൽക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. നമ്മുടെ ടോയ്ലറ്റുകൾ എല്ലാം തന്നെ ബയോഗ്യാസ് ആയിട്ട് കണക്ട് ആണ്. ഈ ബയോഗ്യാസിന്റെ ഔട്ട്പുട്ട് നമ്മുടെ എസ്. ടി. പി പ്ലാന്റിലേക്ക് പോകുന്നു. എസ്.ടി. പി പ്ലാന്റിൽ നിന്നുള്ള വെള്ളം ചെടികൾ നനയ്ക്കുന്നതിനും പച്ചക്കറി കൃഷിയുമായി ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നു. \nഎടുത്തുപറയാവുന്ന മറ്റൊന്നാണ് ” സോളാർ പ്ലാന്റ് ” കേരളത്തിലെ ആദ്യത്തെ അതായത് ഗ്രിഡ് ആയി കണക്റ്റായ ( ഉത്പാദിപ്പിക്കുന്ന വൈദ്യുതി ഇലക്ട്രിസിറ്റിക്ക് കൊടുക്കുന്നു) പദ്ധതിയിലെ ആദ്യത്തെ പ്ലാന്റ് അഷ്ടാംഗം സെറ്റ് ചെയ്തതാണ് എന്നത് എക്കാലത്തും അഭിമാനിക്കാവുന്ന ഒരു കാര്യമാണ്. കാർബൺ സന്തുലിത ക്യാമ്പസ് എന്ന നിലയ്ക്ക് കഴിഞ്ഞവർഷം KFRI യിൽ നിന്ന് ഒരു ഡോക്ടർ വന്ന് ഒരു ക്ലാസ് എടുക്കുകയുണ്ടായി. അതിനുള്ള പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾ ചെറിയ രീതിയിൽ നമ്മൾ കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്നുണ്ട്. \nഇതിനോടൊപ്പം ആണ് കഴിഞ്ഞ രണ്ടു വർഷമായിട്ട് പച്ചത്തുരുത്ത് എന്ന concept ൽ ഹരിത കേരള മിഷനുമായി സഹകരിക്കുന്നത്. രണ്ടു ഭാഗങ്ങളിലായി നമ്മൾ പച്ചത്തുരുത്തുകൾ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. അതിനൊപ്പം തന്നെ നമ്മുടെ ക്യാമ്പസിൽ നക്ഷത്ര വനങ്ങളുടെ രണ്ടു കൂട്ടങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ട്. ഒരു സ്റ്റാൻഡിൽ 27 നക്ഷത്രങ്ങളുടെയും അവയുടെ ചെടികളുടെയും പേരുകൾ എഴുതി ഡിസ്പ്ലേ ചെയ്തിട്ടുള്ള നക്ഷത്ര വൃക്ഷങ്ങളുടെ ഒരു ഡെമോൺസ്ട്രേഷൻ നമ്മുടെ hospital reception ന്റെ മുന്നിലുണ്ട്. രണ്ടാമത്തെ പച്ചത്തുരുത്ത് കഴിഞ്ഞവർഷമാണ് നമ്മൾ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയത്. ആദ്യത്തെ പച്ച തുരുത്ത് ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിട്ട് രണ്ടു വർഷത്തോളം ആയി. ഈ ക്യാമ്പ്സിനകത്ത് ഓരോ ഇഞ്ച് സ്ഥലത്തും ഒരു ഫലവൃക്ഷം അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ഒരു ഔഷധസസ്യം എങ്കിലും പ്ലാന്റ് ചെയ്യുക എന്ന ഒരു ലക്ഷ്യം നമ്മൾ ഏകദേശം 90% നേടിക്കഴിഞ്ഞു എന്നുള്ളത് സന്തോഷപൂർവ്വം അറിയിക്കട്ടെ.

DESCRIPTION:The Departments of Kriyasareera and Rachanasareera at Ashtamgam Ayurveda Chikitsalayam & Vidyapeedham organised a series of academic activities under SARIROSCOPE 2026\, providing a platform for undergraduate Ayurveda students to explore classical Ayurvedic concepts through creativity\, scientific communication\, observation\, and interdisciplinary learning. \nThe initiatives comprised two national-level online competitions— \n\nKRIYĀHAVA 2026\, organised by the Department of Kriyasareera\, \nLokapurusha Samya Photography Contest\, organised by the Department of Rachanasareera\n\n—culminating in an online academic webinar on 17 October 2026. \n\nKRIYĀHAVA 2026: Where Kriya Meets Creativity\n\nThe competition featured two events: the Physiology Working Model Video Competition and the Kriyasareera Poster Presentation. The working model category invited participants to demonstrate physiological concepts or processes through functional models accompanied by brief video explanations. The poster presentation encouraged students to communicate their understanding of Ayurvedic physiology through concept-based visual presentations. \nThe winners were: \n\nPhysiology Working Model Video: Dr Hajera Fatima\, Sri Siddharameshwar Ayurvedic Medical College & Research Centre\, Naubad\, Bidar.\nKriyasareera Poster Presentation: Arpita Patel\, SDM College of Ayurveda\, Hassan\, Karnataka.\nLokapurusha Samya Photography Contest\n\nThe Department of Rachanasareera organised the Lokapurusha Samya Photography Contest as an academic and creative initiative to explore the classical Ayurvedic concept of Loka–Purusha Samya—the correspondence between the macrocosm and the human microcosm. \nThe winner was: \n– Lokapurusha Samya Photography Contest: Chaithra N. R.\, Muniyal Institute of Ayurveda\, Manipal. \n\nSARIROSCOPE 2026 Webinar: The Universe Within—Loka–Puruṣa Sāmya in Clinical Anatomy\n\nThe webinar provided an academic platform to explore the relevance of the Ayurvedic concept of Loka–Puruṣa Sāmya in understanding the relationship between the human body and the universe\, with particular emphasis on its interpretation in clinical anatomy. \nThe resource session was delivered by Dr Ajayan Sadanandan\, Visiting Professor\, Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS)\, and Consultant Scientist\, SGRF\, Cheruthuruthy. \nThe webinar also served as the platform for announcing the results of the KRIYĀHAVA 2026 competitions and the Lokapurusha Samya Photography Contest. \nCollectively\, these activities reflect the institution’s continued efforts to enrich undergraduate Ayurvedic education through innovative learning experiences\, interdepartmental collaboration\, and the integration of traditional knowledge with contemporary academic perspectives. \n  \n
